Garage Preview: Jaguar To Re-Enter Entry Luxury Segment

With the success of the Mercedes-Benz CLA and the Audi A3, Jaguar is making plans to re-enter the segment, after being out for a decade or so, with the all-new XE sedan. Early this year on the auto show segment Jaguar revealed a crossover concept vehicle. The 2016 XE is based off the crossover concept vehicle that made its way on the auto show circuit. The last time Jaguar played in the segment was with the Ford-based XJ. Unlike the XJ, the XE will be a pure Jaguar through and through. Also as automakers realize, this will attract a young profile of buyers to the family. The XE will be available with a 6-cylinder engine. Some of safety driving aids that will be available on the XE are an radar-activated cruise control system, blind spot monitoring, a semi-automated parallel and perpendicular parking system and a reverse traffic detection system.
